If your plug-in already uses our new preset browser, your favourites are stored in the database file created by the plug-in, named PLUGIN_Presets.presetsdb
(substitute PLUGIN with the name of the plug-in, like Diva_Presets.presetsdb
).
On Windows, you will find the file here: ~\PLUGIN.data\PresetDatabase\
On macOS, you will find the file here: /Users/YOUR_USERNAME/Library/Application Support/u-he/PLUGIN/PresetDatabase/
Note: On macOS, these files are stored inside the user path of the account currently logged in on your Mac. Newer versions of macOS hide the user path folder by default. Should you not be able to locate it in Finder, then please follow these steps.
To transfer your favourites from one plug-in installation to the other, simply copy that database file. When doing so, please ensure that the folder and preset structure is identical on both computers, otherwise the database won’t be able to assign the favourites correctly.
However, the recommended method is to use the plugin’s Preset Browser to export a file that contains all required details about the favourite status of your presets, and then import this file into your plugin installation on the other computer.
Follow these steps on the source computer:
- Open the u-he plug-in on the source computer
- Switch to the Preset Browser
- Hold down the Shift key on your keyboard (and keep it held down)
- Drag the
Favourites
smart folder out from the Preset Browser - Drop the
Favourites
smart folder on your Desktop
This will make the plugin on the source computer create a file with all required information.
On the target computer, please follow these steps:
- Open the u-he plug-in on the target computer
- Switch to the Preset Browser
- Drag the previously exported file inside the plugin
- Drop the previously exported file onto the main favourites smart folder in the Preset Browser
Please refer to the manual for more details about this feature.
If your plug-in uses the old browser, your favourites are stored in a file named Favourites.db.txt
, located in the root folder of the preset library. To find it:
- Open the correct u-he plug-in
- Switch to the Preset Browser
- Right-click on Local to show a popup menu
- Choose open in Explorer (Windows) / reveal in Finder (macOS)
- The OS will open a window showing a folder containing the factory preset folder.
- Open that folder and find
Favourites.db.txt
, then copy it from one plug-in installation to the other.
